You can convert your software from Dos3.3 to ProDOS but there
are some problems !
1. For Basic software, you should check Dos3.3 commands and
remove the CHR$(13) before the CHR$(4). A well-designed Basic
program should have like this at beginning :
D$ = CHR$(13) + CHR$(4) for Dos3.3
You can just change to it :
D$ = CHR$(4)
Otherwise ProDOS won't recongize the commands.
2. For BIN files, there is pretty more complicated. ProDOS can
allow you to load them only between $800-$9600 addresses,
otherwhise you will get the "NO BUFFER AVAILABLE" error.
The ampersand (&) routines written under Dos3.3 don't often work
under ProDos. You will have to correct and recompile them if you
have, of course, the sources ...
The BIN routines, like old games which are loaded once in
memory, can work under ProDOS only if they don't use Dos3.3
routines.
It isn't really easy to convert Dos3.3 apps to ProDOS. If you
havnen't sources, you have better to let them as they are. It
requires too much work. I have experienced and can tell you that
it isn't quite easy !!!
