A matter of History & questions

I have just inventoried the Apple Lab at my school. I have Apple// +,c,e,
and gs. Can anyone tell me which came when in developmental order and what
the strengths and weaknesses of each are? Is there any reading matter on
the Apple // other than the manuals? I have a pile of manuals 20" high to
try to wade thru! And what does the little "enhanced" button on the
keyboard mean?

I have been reading the yey and nay sayers in this newsgroup and I'd like
to say,(as a total Mac Addict and Apple // newbie) that I am excited about
learning about the Apple //. As an educator I deal with kids all day long.
The kids at my school include the whole ecomonic spectrum. They love the
Apple // machines. Yes, some are quick to point out what their machines at
home can do. But most kids do NOT have computors at home. They aren't as
impressed with fancy statistics about RAM and Mhz and so forth as we
adults think they are. At least my elementary kids aren't. They just want
a chance to be turned loose with the machine. They want to go exploring.
Most don't need the latest and greatest machine to be happy. I think we
adult children are sometimes more gimme orintated than the little kids
are. I think the important thing is that the kids are growing up using
computors. The "life in the fast lane" will come later. These Apple //s
may be outdated to some people but they are still making learning fun for
kids 10-12 years after they built. Sure I love my PowerMac, but I'm
enjoying getting to know these Apple //s.

And thanks all you friendly folks who sent answers to earlier question.
