SecondSight boot stability

There was talk about this awhile ago, but I'm not sure if anything was 
ever finalized...

My secondsight has become EXTREMELY freeze-prone on startup.  It will 
sometimes take 8 or 9 resets before the GS starts booting.  Yes, this is 
with a buggie supply, AND with a buggie convertor cable attached to a 230 
watt supply.  Wasn't there a previous discussion about removing something 
off the back of the SecondSight board, (wire or diode) to increase 
stability?  Or was that only for specific situations, different than this?

My GS is a ROM 3, and the slot config is as follows...

Slot 1 - SecondSight 24-bit/1 meg ROM v1.4 BEEF
Slot 2 - empty (soon to be Grappler+ parallel card)
Slot 3 - Zip 14/64
Slot 4 - Soundmeister
Slot 5 - AST VisionPlus Enhanced ROM v2.0
Slot 6 - empty
Slot 7 - RamFAST Rev.D /1-meg ROM 3.01ez

Memory Slot - 4 meg Sequential RAM GS (total of 5.125 megs)

The 230 watt supply is powering all this, plug a Quantum LPS340 hard 
drive, and an Apple CD300e+ CD-ROM drive, so I'm pretty sure it has a 
nice large load (so nothing should be getting underpowered)

Thanks for any advice on this!  I'd like to make my GS stable again.
