No, WDC never finished the design (or perhaps never started) of the 65832.
They couldn't see a market for it with Apple dropping the IIgs and only
Nintendo using the 65816. Perhaps if Nintendo and WDC had gotten together
on using it for their new game machine, or possibly a 64 bit version,
there may have been a future for it...
