ClarisWorks can read AppleWorks 3.0 files and earlier and MacLink Plus 
translators can translate AppleWorks 3.0 files and earlier to a number of 
Mac formats.  The _is_ a disadvantage to using AppleWorks later than version 
3:  the Mac translators can't translate them if they use any features not in 
AppleWorks 3.0.
 
When I got my upgrade notice from DataViz about the latest update to macLink 
Plus, I wrote and asked if they included translators for later works of 
AppleWorks.  Never heard back -- and that was many months ago.
 
Funny -- I never seem to hear back from companies I write to about Apple II 
support.  On second thought, it's not so funny.
