ActiveGS is the one I've been using, but the process I described isn't
the simplest possible one, and your post reminds me of that.
Ciderpress itself can generally be used to convert a 2mg file to an
sdk archive in most cases. Once you have that, you can zip it up and
transfer it to your Mac using the process you described.
Using an emulator (for me) was useful in that it allowed me to try out
the software before jumping through hoops to get it transferred to my
IIGS. If I decided I wanted to transfer something, I'd boot up
ActiveGS with an emulated hard drive, insert the 2mg and use ShrinkIt
to create an sdk file somewhere on the emulated hard drive. I'd then
exit the emulator and use Ciderpress to extract the sdk file from the
hard drive image for transfer.
