As far as I'm concerned, the Apple IIc was the best general-purpose home 
computer ever made.  COmpact -- to fit on small space on a student desk.
 
Although I generally make use of a IIgs, I would never think of parting with 
my IIc systems.  On a nice summer day, I can set it up on the bridge table 
on my front porch and work as I also watch the world go buy and chat with 
friendly neighbours.
 
There is lots of software for the IIc.  If it's a "stock" IIc with just the 
internal 5.25" drive and 128k, you can run AppleWorks version 3 on it.  Set 
up each module (WP, DB, SS) on three separate disks, and you'll only have to 
swap disks when you want to change modules or save.  If you have an external 
drive, youcan set it up so you only have to swap disks for one of those 
reasons.
 
With a IIc plus or Unidisk 3.5 drive on the IIC and at least 256k, you have 
it made.  Run the latest AppleWorks (version 5) and never have to swap disks.
