Doesn't he have to know what a system resource is?  (blunt statement:
don't touch anything to the "System Folder," never use a program that
modifies it so it says "Howdy doody!" or anything on startup, and never,
ever, remove files in it named "Finder," "System," or "Update".  Keep that
in mind and you should enjoy a booting mac for years to come :)
