I expect that a SPARC machine uses standard 3.5" drives, i.e.
PC-compatible ones.  It is rather unlikely that it would work with
Apple/Mac 400K or 800K disks (GCR encoding), but there are no physical
problems dealing with PC, Mac or Apple II 1.44MB disks (or 720K disks).

It should be possible if you have a high density 3.5" drive on the IIgs,
given the right software.
