I think the problem is that your new drive doesn't provide
termination power. The RamFast SCSI card has the capability to do
this and the mod for the Apple SCSI card will also do the same and
then you should se the drive without a second drive attached. This
can also be caused by blowing the 1 amp fuse that provides the
termination power in most drives.
