First, I have no idea if the people using asimov want to be legit or
not. This discussion has been taking place in comp.sys.apple2 and I
don't think many of the comp.emulators.apple2 group regulars read this
group unless they also own and use real Apple IIs. Once they are made
aware of the rules that we would like them to follow, then they can
decide and let us know whether they agree or not.
Second, we are not just trying to come up with these guidelines to
whine about people using asimov. We are trying to set some guidelines
for a useful service. If asimov and its users decide that they would
like to provide this service then great, if not then we can attempt to
set such a service up. Either way, anyone asking questions about
asimov on comp.sys.apple2 can be told to use it because it is a useful
service that is following a set of agreed upon rules or to avoid it
because it is a pirate site and to use the new service (if it gets
created) instead.
