WAV Files to GS

I checked Nathan's very impressive collection of FAQ-like substances and
found no reference to this problem. Likewise, none of the software I've
tried seems to work.

My problem stems from trying to work on an album long distance, with
people with other machines. Specifically, I need to know:

How to get a *.WAV file into something a GS can work with. Having done that,
how to convert it back to *.WAV. I have several flavors of machines with
which to work, unfortunately none of them are PC's with soundcards. So, I
can translate from here to Cupertino and back, but my only sound
capabilities are on the GS. I've got a PowerPC 8100/100AV, but its AV
system is dedicated to running my lab's EEG and can't be reconfigured. I
can run any relevant translation programs on it. I also have an SGI Iris,
in case the sound type they use (*.AU?) is a useful alternative and
translation software is available (I've seen it for PC's but haven't
checked the SGI site for such as yet).

I've got an Audio Animator in the GS, if that helps.

Any ideas?
