You have to read what he said more carefully.  He didn't say GSOS was
running on the IIe, he said the FINDER from early GSOS disks would run on
a IIe.  GSOS is an operating system that was designed to used the
adbvanced hardware ONLY available in an Apple IIgs.  However, remember
that almost any bit of 8-bit software works swell on a IIgs.

The Finder that came on those early disks was actually an 8-bit program.
Therefore, it would run on the IIe.  Remember when the IIgs came out,
there was no (little?) real 16-bit software available for it.  So folks
used them as Super IIe's until there was real IIgs only software.

If you would like a copy of Apple II Desktop (The name of that 8-bit
finder) you should be able to find it on any FTP site, as "gui8bit.shk".

PS. Apple II Desktop runs nicely on my super tricked-out IIc system, from
an 800k disk.  Make sure you have a mouse.
