As a test, I downloaded everything from the HyperCard IISG directory of
ftp.support.apple.com. I tried using GSCII+, ShrinkIt (GS version), and
MacBin. None of them would accept the .BSQ (or whatever .B.. designation)
as input. I was able to use GSCII+ to translate the .H.. versions into
Mac format files, with resources. These were all transfered with NC-FTP
in binary format, and then with ZModem (ProTerm) to my GS, so the files
were not corrupted in that process.
It has been said here before that the files have a MacBinary II wrapper,
but MacBin should have been able to remove it.
So, as far as I am concerned, the ONLY way of getting HC GS is from a
user group. Certainly there are no dealers left in the world that would
even talk to you if you mention A2. I had problems getting system
software from a dealer in Concord, CA when 4.0 was released (around
1987?).
