disks that allowed you to hook up a PC to an Appletalk network strickly 
for the purpose of printing to Apple original Laser printer.  However, 
with a phonetalk connector (available in DIN 8 and 9 pin serial) you CAN 
hook the puppy up to an Appletalk network.  The problem becomes software. 
 I use farallon's phonenet PC, which allows PC's to connect to Appletalk 
networks in much the same way a GS does, seeing the mac but not being 
seen by it.  The software is not new (1992) and does not seem to work 
with Windows 95.  However, it works fine with Win 3.11, and it actually 
lets you print on an old imagewritter.  

So the answer is YES you can use it, but you need a MAC between the GS 
and PC as a server.  Not worth the expense, unless, like me, you move 
alot of data from a MAC to a GS to a PC.
