Well, the SCSI version of the LS-120 drive is not available yet. It =
depends on Compaq good will.
This drive is capable of reading MFM encoded disks (1.44 MB, 720K) as =
well. ProDOS 3.5' disks are GCR encoded, hence the 800K size. Although =
this is a laser servo-based system, the drive won't read 21 MB =
flopticals either. Richard Bennett wrote a Floptical driver for the =
Apple SCSI board. He was wondering if he could add 800K disk support. =
This format is available on Insite drive but the sector size is 1024 =
bytes, not 512 bytes. I wonder if this capability is available on the =
new LS-120 drive. Perhaps R. Bennett could write a new driver for the =
LS-120 when it is available as a SCSI drive.
