Adrian, thanks for clarifying for me what the poll was you mentioned.  I
saw Andreas' plea and visited the web site.  Frankly, I was so confused by
what the Globe wanted that I ignored the site entirely.  I agree that his
pleas would corrupt the process if it were intended to be useful in the
first place.  I tend to equate this kind of poll to a television program
asking people to call a 900-number to express an opinion:  totally
unscientific and not likely to influence anyone's thinking.  Nevertheless,
I agree that it's inappropriate to suggest corrupting whatever purpose the
Globe wants it to serve.

As to the spelling of comeuppance, it is in my dictionary.  As listed.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say my agenda is clear.  I don't have
any agenda at all, or at least not where the topic of this post is
concerned.  I merely responded to what you posted based on my
interpretation of your meaning.  Obviously, I was very wrong about your
meaning, since the poll in question was not of your doing.  Perhaps I was
even swayed to believe your remarks meant something other than what you
intended by your CEO signature line.  Don't know.  Whatever the cause, I
did in fact misinterpret your meaning -- a problem which is all too easy
here in USENET groups.  So, let me apologize for my mistake and for coming
across like a jerk.
