Re: GUPP

I really shouldn't be replying on this request for info and help with
GUPP. Non-the-less help is help so here goes! GUPP is a series of
patches for the GS/OS v6.0x to make the IIGS system software behave
better. Fixes many, many bugs. Concluding you want it for a IIGS - I
certainly would suggest you get it. It's a freeware, it is GS specific
and it will solve a lot of the GS/OS bug problems.

It's the best thing he's done (IMHO). The documentation is through and
is included in the archive. I also suggest you send Nathan some sort of
token money gift for it (even though it is a freeware). That's one way
to assure that he will continue with his efforts for this computer!

I recall having given Nathan $10 for his disk that he was selling in the
isles of an AppleFest back a few years ago, in S.F., CA. I really
didn't want it for myself. I turned around and gave it to my friend
Larry Knox, that really wanted to buy it from Nathan, but didn't have
$10 cash on him at the time. I also refused to take the $10 from Larry,
when he tried to repay me. After all he did me many related computer
favors for me as a friend and it was only right that I repayed his
favors, as best I could.

Money seems to talk well with Nathan! Sorry to say, it had no effect
with any sort of friendly relationship after his initial statement to me
of "Gee thanks! You're the first shareware payment I got here today."

Hope my information has been of some help and value.

Cheers,
Tom
