Re: A2 Places of Interest in California?

Hello,

	Well, there are some interesting places, though I'm not sure 
you'll be able to hit them, since you are only going to 4 cities.  One 
software/hardware place is The Used Computer Store (I think, it's been a 
while since I've been there) in Berkeley, CA.  This is where I bought my 
Super-Comm card by Sequential Systems and the serial cable to connect my 
modem.  A lot of hardware and plenty of older software, though the prices 
are a bit high.  

	The other software place is called Herb's Software.  They 
originally had a shop in Fremont, CA.  They opened a second store, I 
believe in San Jose (again, I'm not sure, it's been a while) and they 
just closed their Fremont location pretty recently.  A decent selection of 
older software for II/IIGS users at close out prices.  Also have a lot of 
new and old IBM/MAC titles for those interested in those things.  

	There are other places also located near San Jose/Santa Clara 
Area.  Unfortunately, I don't remember their names off hand.  One place 
is where I found a decent 2400 modem which I'm currently using with my 
IIe.  It's more of a electronics shop/closeout place.  In fact, around 
the San Jose area, there are a lot of those type of shops where if you 
dig hard enough you can find some old Apple II software lying around, 
which I did, digging up a used copy of Star Fleet I, Ogre and a couple of 
other things and paying a mere $5 for it.  

	Unfortuntately, there are no places for Apple II stuff in San 
Francisco that I know of, as much as I wish there were, since I live 
there.  I could always recommend tourist attractions as opposed to Apple 
II attractions!  

	Hope you have fun on your Sam Francisco Bay Area visit.  The 
weather has been pretty good lately.  :)
