Problems with //e cards

I am having some problems with some cards in my //e. When I plug in drive 2 
into the drive card, the computer won't boot: drive one just keeps spinning and 
the "in use" light is constantly on. I suppose it could be a fault in the card 
or in drive two, does anyone have any suggestions?
There is also a Z80 Soft card in slot 5, althought the ProDos utitility to show 
the cards says this slot is empty. I am not even sure what the card is for! 
Does anyone know? If the utility says the slot is empty does it mean the card 
is not recognized?
