- Could: the mass of programs people wanted to use was written for the
CME(| I watched the whole show and pretty much liked what I saw,
| especially the Apple ][ stuff. I agree with Phillip; they did
| make damn sure everybody knew that the GUI was _not_ Bill Gates'
| idea and others (i.e. Apple) had done it well before and much
| better than Microsoft. Steve Jobs was much more blunt about it;
| he came a gnat's breath away from calling Gates a two bit theif.
Question: Has Xerox PARC ever called Jobs & Apple two-bit thieves for
capitalizing on the idea which they inspired/showed off? :) I really
liked that aspect too, that the show pointed out that Microsoft didn't
invent the GUI (with the added emphasis that Jobs' Macintosh didn't
either!). And now I know how arrogant Steve Jobs is in real life.
