Re: italics on Imagewrite
A unique and original solution to allow the Imagewriters to print
italics - would be to go and download the following shrinkit archive
(PR.FONTS.SHK) and give it a try - from the following URL.
http://www.wco.com/~3d5d1wsw/gsezine/GS.WorldView/*JUNE.96.NEW.FILES/
A portion of the info text file covering what it is and can do, follows:
"Several people on comp.sys.apple2.programmer said they wanted to see
these, so here they are.
This Shrinkit archive contains a printer font editor and downloader for
the ImageWriter (I and II), and for the C. Itoh and Apple DMP printers.
Italso contains a couple of sample printer fonts, and some auxiliary
programs that go with the C. Itoh editor/downloader.
This archive unpacks to several ProDOS files, but they were originally
written for DOS 3.3, and for best results they should be transferred to
a DOS 3.3 disk (unless you feel like patching them to take advantage of
ProDOS features). They should run on any Apple II (but the ImageWriter
editor/downloader uses lowercase, which may be rather illegible on an
Apple ][+, and downloading will be pointless unless you have the
appropriate printer and interface card).
I'll reiterate the warning I posted on comp.sys.apple2.programmer: Some
of these have a rather awkward user interface, and there is no
documentation to speak of. FROM: - Neil Parker"
Hope that helps - with your desires to print italics with an Imagewriter
I or II.
Cheers,
Tom
