   Error $0027 is the old "I/O Error" [Input/Output error],
i.e. there's a problem reading from the drive. That's not GS/OS's
fault; the drive is most likely improperly formatted or has hardware
defects. Do a low-level format on it, and try again.

As I said, no problem with P8, just GSOS problems.
