Help: Math formula editor

Hi, all !

Can anybody tell me the name of a good software for editing 
mathematical formula on Mac and how to get it?

I have used MathType2.05, which seems to be not so convenient
since it generates some unnecessary dots under the formula
I made when I copy it to my word processor.

Any information/suggestion will be greatly appreciated.
