Thanks for the info Oliver! As soon as I get a chance I'll set the tablet up
and tinker with it. The 12 bit resolution is interesting, and explains a lot.
I saw an application many moons ago where the Apple Graphics Tablet could be
used to help analyze HPLC traces. You had to tape the trace (strip chart
paper) to the tablet and press through it to transfer the position
information to the computer. I didn't think the 280x192 HiRes screen would be
high enough. I wrote a similar program on a II+ that used raw data recorded
via an AI-13 ADC displayed on the screen. I got around the resolution problem
by letting the user zoom in and out to select specific points from the data
set. We later wrote routines which automatically determined peak positions
that took a lot of the manual labor out of it.
