Nathan Mates comments:
Clue time: Mark's point is that such advertisements are not really
stuff relevant to comp.sys.apple2.gno. Or .comm. Or .programmer. If
anyone wants to get stuff, they'll read comp.sys.apple2, and NOT need
to read it in 6 places. Likewise, this topic has no need of being in
comp.sys.apple2.gno, and has been sent to comp.sys.apple2.
Further, all of these posts come out individually, not properly
crossposted. The advantage of crossposting is that people read a given
article _once_, despite how many newsgroups it's been sent to. It
appears that some members of the Apple II community have no clue as to
how to do it. Large amounts of crossposting to off-topic newsgroups
is called SPAM, and dang annoying on the internet.
<-------------------------------------------------> I reply:
(*) Yes, it is CLUE TIME: As the Church Lady would say 'Well, isn't that
special". Mark's point is that he seems to get a real thrill out of
ragging on me the same as you. And you both use vulgar words to express
your concepts, which are not required and your concepts are certainly
not universally accepted, just like mine aren't. So, why don't you just
both stop with all your Apple II 'Watch-dog Nit-Pickin'. So, I don't do
things by protocal, as you seem to expect -> BIG DEAL! And, I'm gulity
of a SPAM (at leasty in your mind anyway) -> BIG DEAL! What's proper to
you, may not actually be proper to everybody else! Dis you write the
book on PROPER? Don't you have better things to do with your time,
besides running all over the Apple II news groups (WASTING BANDWIDTH
ALSO) with all your critical chattering threads? (You see, you've got me
doing the same thing!) I can see why you're scared of me now. Our
actions and our environments to effect each of us, don't they?
Please ease off Nate! I'm fed up with your running around on the CSA2
newsgroups, nit-pickin on everything I and everybody else, that doesn't
conform to your proper rules and regulations - do, say and post! And, I
assure you I'm not alone either! The contest is over, so drop it. The
post you responded to was 3 days old besides! Let em lay! Chill-out!
Cool it! You're young and have your whole life ahead of you. Be mellow,
be nice. That would make people like you a lot more. It would certainly
make me like you a lot more than I do now!

Nathan Mates comments:
I don't care about these contests, and have never participated in
them. I run an Apple II WWW site based on facts, information, and
the truth, and am not desperate for tricks to run up page counters.
Others are free to do what they want, as long as they don't tick
everyone off.
<-------------------------------------------------> I reply:
(*) So, if you don't care about these contest and have never
participated in them, then why are you chattering so much about them?
Everybody knows what type and style of an Apple II WWW site you have.
I visit it all the time and I link to it, because it certainly does have
some very valid and very useful information within it. I tell the truth
and I'm not desperate for tricks to run up my page counters. I guess,
you've added your share to that page counter of mine, just like I've
added my share of hits to your WWW site. You do things your way and
I'll do things my way. Neither of which has to tick everyone off.
The only one that really seems to express his being ticked off is you!
Oh, sure there's another dozen or so CSA2 readers that hate me. But
there's a lot more than a dozen readers to the CSA2 newsgroups. I'd
guess about 6000 or so. They all read what they want to read, where
they want to read it. Just like I do. If I see something in another
group that was posted, that I've already read, I don't bother to read it
again. I just ignore it. If I see something that's wrong or in error,
I don't nit pick the person into the ground over it. I just let it lay.
I mean, after all, you'll surely come in and read it all and make your
correction comments, flames, rag threads etc. You're teaching me how to
do it now.
To end this waste of bandwidth, the contest is over, I do things my way
and you do things your way. There's plenty of bandwidth to go around
for all! And, remember we've got 'FREE SPEECH NOW' on the Net! Let's
all just try to use it wisely and stop chewing on each others throats
about every little mistake. OK? None of us are perfect! Now, I'm
taking a two week vacation from the Net and from the newsgroups, so
everybody be cool, have fun and I'll check it all out when I get back.
Cheers,
Tom
