Well, that's fine *if* all of your INITs and DAs bother printing a string
on the text screen, but many, many of them don't.

You don't have to re-enable everyting one at a time, though:  Enable half,
and if it boots OK then enable half of the remaining ones.  When it stops
working, take out the last batch you added and add half of it, instead
(you get the idea).

This sort of approach usually works well, though it's not foolproof.  For
example, the "offending" piece of software may not be doing anything wrong,
but still might trigger bad behavior in the Real Culprit.  (To really see
what's happening, you need to use a machine level debugger, which can be
pretty painful sometimes.)
