I'd like to see an enhanced IIe run something like Spectrum, GNO/ME,
ORCA/Shell, Merlin 16+, AppleWorks GS, GraphicWriter III, ...

I don't use Finder, except when it is the best tool for the task, e.g.
when doing a lot of messy rearrangement of selected files.  I boot my
IIgs straight into the text-based ORCA/Shell, and launch most of my
applications from there (using aliases for the main ones).

Finder isn't the only program launcher and file management utility for
the IIgs.  Quite a few people use ProSel-16, for example.
