14.4 on a //c+???

Has anyone been able to run a 14.4 modem at full speed on a //c+? The best
reliable speed I can get is 9600. I have a Prometheus ProModem 144e,
ProTERM 3.1, and I have the modem connected with a standard Mac/IIgs modem
cable. Someone mentioned something a while ago about needing a "hardware
handshaking" cable, but I've never seen them anywhere, nor know what it
does, exactly.

If anyone can help me out, I'd be very appreciative... Thanks.
