I wouldn't recommend connecting the IIgs RGB monitor to an Apple III.
The III expects a digital RGB monitor, not an analog one.
Mitchell Spector tried it, and it appeared to work to some extent, but
the colours were incorrect. I don't know what voltages are used for
the video lines on digital and analog RGB monitors, but it is possible
that lower voltages are used with analog, and this could damage the
monitor.
