I doubt I'd spend $1500 for a 32-bit IIgs. I don't know if a lot of us would.
Ever get nickel and dimed to death in comp.sys.apple2.marketplace?
The one remaining thing that links us II users - we is cheap.
 
The cool thing about my IIgs set-up is that, buying a piece here, a piece there,
I put to gether a great machine for a fraction of the cost of a new comp -
and I do about all the things I would if I had a PC or Mac - word processing,
lay-out, a bit of CD roms, gifs, modem, fax...
