If a program is not being sold by anybody and the only way to get a copy is
to download a disk image or copy someone else's then that's one thing.

Proterm 3.1, however, is still being sold and supported by Intrec, although
maybe not for long after they read your message. I think you have an
obligation to immediately erase the disk and either purchase Proterm 3.1
or "use the next best thing."

Based on this post and a few other things, I can't imagine why any person
would bother to write any new software for the Apple II unless they planned
to release it as freeware. The user base is tiny, and a substantial
percentage of the users there are seem to have no qualms about stealing
software that is available for sale.
