IIgs => DOS Box
It's been years since I last needed to transfer files from my GS to a PC,
and for some reason, I seem to have lost the 'touch.'
I've got the GS's modem port connected to the PC's COM1 port via a null
modem cable and am using ProTerm on the GS and ProComm+ on the PC. Both
softs are set for 8/N/1 and 2400 baud, and when both are in half-duplex
mode, keystrokes from one appear on the monitor of the other.
But... Any attempt to transfer files from the GS results in ProTerm
aborting after a few seconds. (No handshaking??) I always thought that
if could 'transfer' keystrokes across the connection, all was well.
Could someone who's done this recently check the _exact_ port and software
settings (including handshaking protocol) and un-rust my memory?
(Wouldn't have to do it this way if my PCT 720K drive hadn't rolled belly
up...apparently. Sheesh.)
TIA
