With a name like that, how can I let this pass? :)

Could this be heat-related? Have you tried booting off of a
3.5" Sys6 disk with your RamFAST removed? How long can you use your
GS before it crashes?

: problem as I do? Are the disk drive lights suppose to flash when at the
: desk top? When I'm run ProDos 8 software booted from the desk top,
: both my 5.25 disk drive lights stop flashing. I'm running a Apple IIgs
: rom 03 with 2175k of ram, a SCSI hard drive with RamFast revision D
: installed in slot 7, two 3.5 and two 5.25 disk drives.
This happens when GS/OS polls your drives. The idea is that
when you put a disk in the 3.5" drive, it will know when it's
inserted. If you try and read from a drive that doesn't have a disk
in it, it will return an error. If no error occurs, that must mean a
disk has been inserted. They did the same to the 5.25"'s, but
actually checking for an error would really slow down the computer.
So, yes, this is completely normal, but don't expect a 5.25" icon to
pop up when you insert a disk. You still need to double-click on the
APPLEDISK.525A or something like that.
