It is darned sure NOT ALLOWED.  It would be more accurate to say that the 
Copyright holder would have difficulty getting more than a court order 
yanking the copyrighted file and reimbursement from you for his legal fees 
for the lawsuit.  And he would have difficulty getting even that unless he 
could document that he had informed you of your "error" and asked you to 
cease and desist.

Lawyers are EXPENSIVE. If somebody sued you for copyright infringement, 
you could probably expect to drop $10,000 or so for legal fees, unless you 
immediately cave, which you could probably do for $1,000 or so.

I have to admire your willingness to expose yourself to such potential 
costs for the sake of pirating someone else's intellectual property.  You 
must really believe in the correctness of your cause.
