RE:3.5" UniDisk on a IIc

I don't know about Apple in the USA, but as of April 15, Apple Canada has
discontinued the free Apple IIc motherboard swap for early IIc's so they
would support the Unidisk.

At the same time, a number of other upgrades and fixes were discontinued by
Apple Canada, such as the ROM00 to ROM01 free upgrade. A number of schools
never bothered with that upgrade, so those looking at buying a used Apple
IIgs better check if it's at least ROM01. A ROM00 is only good as a
glorified IIe.

Until a few months ago, one could still say "Apple will sell AppleCare on
every product it ever made." No longer. Apple Canada will no longer sell
AppleCare on so-called "archived" products such as the Apple ///, ProFile
hard drive, SilenType Printer, Lisa, or Mac XL. You can still buy AppleCare
for your original Apple II, though -- in Canada it costs $108.
