GraphicWriter III

To Don Pattee:

Don,

Thanks for picking up on my request for help with
GrpahicWriter III. I am apt to have more questions as
time goes on and I get further into it, but for now I will
stick to just one topic: Importing black and white Print
Shop GS graphics.

First, let me say that I am using the older version of
Graphic Writer III, and not the newly released version.
Indeed, one of the reasons for my interest is to try to
decide if I will use this thing enough to justify the cost of
the recent upgrade.

Whenever I import a BW PSGS graphic, it enters the graphic
box on my page in yellow. Yes, you read it right--- yellow,
not black.

Worse, If I have already imported a Color PSGS graphic
onto my page, I get BOTH the last Color PSGS graphic, AND the
BW PSGS graphic (in yellow) superimposed on one another.
That is to say, I get junk.

Color PSGS graphics import just fine, as do Black SHR (or
was it a DHR?) graphics. Only the BW PSGS graphics give me
fits.

To date, the only way out is to enter Print Shop GS, go
the the editor, change at least one pixel to a different
color (for example, one black to purple) and then save as a
color PSGS graphic. Then, as a color graphic, it will import
just fine. That, of course is a real drag. If that is the
best that it can do, I may as well stick with Publish.It4.

So, what do you think? Am I doing something wrong, is my
software corrupted, or is that just the way this program
works? If that is just the way it is, then I am really
anxious to know if the newly released upgrade works better
with BW PSGS graphics.

                             Thanks,

                             Steve
