   To get a GS to boot off a Mac's HD, you need AppleShare 3.0, a
several hundred dollar commercial program from Apple. [Personal file
sharing under System 7.x won't work; apparently neither will
AppleShare 4.x]

   You're much better off getting a tiny HD for your GS, booting off
that, and then running stuff from the Mac.
