easy!  that filetype has to read out "TXT" when you pop it in the gs.
try downloading the files to the mac HD, then using apple file exchange
to get it right (this will work, right?).

otherwise, (manually, on the gs....)

type "catalog".  note the length ("end") of the file.
bload file,a$1000,t$00
create file2,ttxt
bsave file2,a$1000,L<length>,ttxt

and all should be happy (that's all from BASIC.SYSTEM, btw.... if you've
got a "]" for a prompt, you should be fine.)

then... exec file2.  it should spit out an executable of binscii, and
then it will no longer matter what filetype things have on the gs, because
if they're binscii archives, binscii is smart enough to open them if you
tell it to.
