interesting problem....

I have an interesting problem.

It seems, while typing merrily along in a text-mode app on my gs,
I occasionally pop into the CDA menu.  usually this has nothing to do
with me hitting control, command, or escape. near as i can tell, it happens
intermittently, and usually when i touch something in the vicinity of "j".

a little obnoxious, but it can be coped with.  any suggestions?  does it
"feel" like a software problem to anyone?

system configuration: Zip/GS 7/8k (touchy), 4meg Sirius RAM, Sider, 
Parallel card, ROM 2 (says 01 on startup, diagnostics say "2").
