A friend just gave me a IIc on thursday, with a similar problem. It also
has a couple of glitches on the screen. to sets of a four-dot square that
it continues to place on the screen. After pulling out my other IIc and
swapping drives and all the chips I could, I've decided that my problem
lies in one of the soldered in chips, possibly the IWM.
Unfortunately, I don't think there is any video circuits in the IWM.
Oh well... I don't know if this helped or harmed, just figured I'd let
you know of another possibility.
