Translation of Apple 5.25 to Mac 3.5 files

I am trying to translate some Apple Writer II files on 5.25 disks to Word
files on 3.5 Mac disks. I have an Apple IIe card plugged into a Mac LC. I
have a 'white?', with grey cable, Apple 5.25 drive plugged into the IIe
card. The manual that came with the IIe card says I should use the 'grey'
Apple 5.25 drive. What is the difference? I can get the IIe card to run
ok in the LC but I can't get the finder or File Exchange to see the 5.25
drive and so can't copy or translate files. I checked the FAQ but it is
none too specific. Do I need some sort of driver software? --- jeff hall
