Back in the times of our forefathers (ca. 1982), the C. Itoh 8510 came
with two manuals--a white paper one from the C. Itoh company (which was
very technical, and displayed occasional traces of Badly Translated
Japanese Syndrome), and one with a silver paperboard cover from the
distributor, Leading Edge (written in a "cute" style, and full of listings
in TRS-80 BASIC).

I have no idea whether or not either of these are available today, or if
so, where to get them.  Maybe Sun Remarketing could help?

If you don't have any luck locating the original manuals, all is not lost.
The C. Itoh command set was adopted by Apple as the basis for every
dot-matrix printer they ever produced.  Look for a manual for the original
Apple DMP (which seems to have been just a C. Itoh 8510 with Apple's logo
on it), or, failing that, a manual for the original Imagewriter.  The
earlier the manual, the better--later models added an increasing number of
features that were missing from the original, and a few old features were
removed.

And yes, the 8510 can print graphics.  It's not very hard to do, but it's
more than I want to type in here...if you want, I have a file around here
somewhere that describes what's necessary that I could mail or post.

I believe Roger Wagner Software is still selling it.  You can probably get
it from any of the remaining Apple II companies, like Quality Computers.
Or watch the ads in comp.sys.apple2.marketplace...every now and then
somebody offers one for sale.
