Did you remeber to specify in Appleworks which slot you have the parallel
printer card in? What printer is at the end of the cable?

You do know that the GS doesn't need drive controller cards, right? I
would suggest buying Apple 5.25" disks or Unidisk 5.25"'s and at least one
Apple 3.5" drive (these are available for $35 used).

Do you mean the basics of using a IIgs or Applesoft Basic? I can send
you, for a nominal charge, the Owner's Guide to the IIgs.

the ram out of an old ii+? Does anyone know the name of the chip I could
use?
The name of the chip is called NEW MEMORY BOARD. Seriously, if you truly
want to use you IIgs effectively, you should sell your old board and buy a
new (used) 2-4 meg board. These are available for relatively low prices
(maybe $40-50) used.

You can either buy a modem specifically designed for that port (the only
ones I am sure of are the Teleport modems, which a re bad to buy for a
IIgs) or you could buy a normal modem with a cable which connects the adb
port and the db25 interface. These cables should be widely available
because of all the Macintosh users out there (see they are useful for
something:).
Good luck!
