   IBM PC drives can NOT write to disks usable by a basic IIGS, unless
you have special and rarer addon hardware on one or both sides. It is
a basic hardware incompatability, and something you'll have to live
with.  With a plain IIGS, you will have to do all of the .bsc
decompression on the GS end, which makes it nearly impossible to
unpack one of the disks, which is >800K. Even with a mac, you can't
really make system disks for the GS, unless at ftp.apple.com you get
the Mac DiscCopy format system 6.0.1. disks.

   The alternative is to download SCIIbin, a C program for unix boxes
and decompress the .BSC files to .SHK (for Shrink-It). The source is
available at ground.isca.uiowa.edu, apple2/unix/SCIIbin. Once you get
the .SHK files from that, you'll have to modem them to your GS, and
uncompress them with Shrink-It. (Shrink-It and Binscii for the Apple
II can be found at apple2.caltech.edu, pub/apple2)

   Parallel printer connector. You'll need a cable to go from that 26
pin connector to the centronics port on most parallel printers.
Further, if it is not a generic dot-matrix printer, you'll have to
hunt down drivers.
