Problems With PC Transporter

I have a PC transporter connected to my ROM 3 Apple IIgs. I recently
acquired a couple of XT compatible games from a clearance sale at a local
store. The games are action games, but aren't working properly with the PC
Transporter (PCT). According to the game instructions the numeric
keypad, space bar, and arrow keys controls the character in play. The  PCT
uses the IIgs numeric keypad to emulate the IBM's. For some reason, the
game refuses to respond to commands given to it, all except for the space
bar. Does anyone know why this is so? Also, I have a joystick connected to
the IIgs joystick port. It does not seem to function either. Does anyone
know why?
