Zip GS crystal

Awhile back I shorted out my Zip GZx 10MHz card. Since then I've gotten a 
new 14MHz cpu hoping that it was all I might need. I still get a 
checkerboard screen when I install the Zip. I was wondering if maybe I 
could use a 50MHz crystal from a 486 DX2 computer as it apears to be the 
same size and comes right out of the 486 motherboard. I want to see if 
maybe the crystal is blown. If another crystal doesn't solve my problem I 
guess I'll just send it back to have Zip Technologies (or whatever they 
are called now) can fix it.
