This appears to be some weird interaction between how select programs
handle sound interrupts and the way they're implemented in Bernie (and
by derivation, Sweet16).

Given that I haven't been able to sort out why this is happening after
spending several days studying it, I expect I won't get around to
fixing this until I rewrite the audio code in Core Audio sometime in
the relatively near future. That will be done as part of my Carbon to
Cocoa conversion effort, which will start once I finish the host file
system access support that's currently in progress.
