More pennies to throw in the pot...(or up the ante?)....

I know that an Apple //e doesn't compare to an Apple IIgs, however, I had
problems with my system getting errors (i.e. crashing).  After formatting your
hard drive did you verify the non-existance of errors (I used Copy II+)?   I
found the the hard drive would verify cleanly, however, about two days afterward
I started having problems.  I looked on the hard drive and it appeared to be
self-terminating.  With a recommendation from a friend I purchased an Apple SCSI
terminator and <voila> all my problems ceased.

I can't promise this to be a fix, but, if your Quantum (40S ProDrive) is the same
drive as mine, and external, this *might* be a problem.

I just though I might recommend this.  BTW, my Quantum worked great for a week
before the first onset of problems.
