Out of memory crash

Previously seen here:  somebody complained about getting the "System
6.01 requires 300k" despite having 4 megs or so on his ROM03.  I replied
that I get that all the time on my 1.25 meg ROM01 but would be back when
the 4 meg GS RAM Ultra showed up.  It did yesterday.

And true to form, imageQuant tells me I need 300k when the picture I was
viewing only took one meg, tops, to view, so I still have 3 megs free,
when exiting the program.  Verification that giving the computer what it
asked for is no solution...  Earlier complainer was using some other app
so this must be going around.
